HENRY BREDENKAMP is a South African painter who was born in 1935. A passion for art since early childhood has been the foundation for exploring various techniques and finally settling for painting in oils. He has been a professional artist for the past 30 years with his work displayed in group as well as solo exhibitions.
Numerous works by the artist have been sold at auction, including ‘River Landscape, the Transvaal’ sold at Graham’s Fine Art Auctioneers ‘The Important Impressionist/Modern, Post-War and Contemporary Auction – Session 2’ in 2010.
His work is typically South African landscapes depicting with realism the natural beauty of land and skies. He received his formal training and inspiration from art lecturer Ernest King. Apart from carving a living as a senior draughtsman for a number of years, his hobby has become his obsession and full time occupation.
