Tim Glasby is a 43 year old professional fine artist. He work full-time from his East London based art studio, in South Africa. He have been an active fine artist for over 20 years, and have been commissioned to do many oil paintings and/or pencil drawings by a global clientele.
As a Photorealist, he attempt to use his technical and artistic skills to create perfectly exact PORTRAITS of his subjects, whatever they may be. It takes him as long as 14 working days to do pencil drawings, and up to 6 months to produce 60cm x 90cm oil paintings.
He work from reference photos that he take himself, or from those supplied by his clients. Where required, he can cut and join images to images, and images to backgrounds, according to his clients needs.
His latest two oil paintings were exhibited at the 2010 Grahamstown National Arts Festival, one as part of the SIGWESILE art exhibition (Albany History Museum), and the other as part of the TOWNSHIP LIFE/EXPERIENCE art exhibition (Barratt Art Centre).
