Swart, Vernon
Vernon Swart was born in 1959 in Stellenbosch, South Africa. He studied Fine Arts at the University of Stellenbosch. In 1988 he did his MA in Fine Arts.
He taught painting, drawing and history of art at the Tygerberg Art Centre in Cape Town for three years, and at the P.J. Olivier Art Centre, Stellenbosch, for eight years.
He mainly draws nude studies and uses conté as a medium. His work can be seen in private as well as corporate collections throughout South Africa. The corporate collections include the Cape Provincial Administration, the Museum of Military History and the Sasol Museum.
He exhibits widely throughout South Africa and is included in numerous public and private collections. He has also exhibited in London, New York, Amsterdam, Namibia and The Bahamas.
